40 Watt Sun
About
40 Watt Sun is the musical project of British singer-songwriter and guitarist Patrick Walker, founded in 2009 following the dissolution of his highly influential doom metal band, Warning. Characterized by down-tempo rhythms, spare arrangements, and Walker's emotionally raw, introspective lyrics, the band's sound has evolved from the melodic doom metal of their debut, 'The Inside Room' (2011), toward a more stripped-back chamber-folk and slowcore style on later albums like 'Wider than the Sky' (2016), 'Perfect Light' (2022), and 'Little Weight' (2024). Although based in London, the project is a recurring fixture in the North American underground music circuit, frequently performing at notable venues such as the X-Ray Arcade in the Milwaukee area.
