49 Winchester

About

49 Winchester was formed in 2013 in the small mountain town of Castlewood, Virginia, by childhood friends and neighbors Isaac Gibson and Chase Chafin. Named after the street where Gibson grew up, the group began as a band of high school friends who started playing together shortly after graduation. Their sound is deeply rooted in their Appalachian heritage, blending elements of country, rock-n-roll, and folk into a soulful style that captures the spirit of central Appalachia. The band spent nearly a decade building a dedicated grassroots following through relentless touring and self-released projects before signing with New West Records. Their 2022 breakout album, Fortune Favors the Bold, propelled them to national prominence and led to international tours supporting major acts like Luke Combs and Tyler Childers. Currently active and touring, 49 Winchester continues to refine their signature brand of 'tear-in-your-beer' alt-country and gritty barroom rock, as seen on their 2024 release, Leavin' This Holler.
