The Academy Is... is an American rock band from Chicago, Illinois, formed in 2003. Initially known as "The Academy," they added "Is..." to their name in 2004 to avoid legal issues with other bands. The group released four studio albums: "Almost Here" (2005), "Santi" (2007), "Fast Times at Barrington High" (2008), and "Almost There" (2026). They disbanded in 2011 but reunited briefly in 2015 to commemorate the 10th anniversary of "Almost Here." In May 2022, they announced a full reunion and released their first album in 18 years, "Almost There," in March 2026.
