Alex Gambacorta
About
Alex Gambacorta (often performing simply as Alexandra) is a Milwaukee-based musician, researcher, and educator deeply embedded in the city's DIY and academic communities. A former standout women's lacrosse player at Marquette University (Class of 2018), she returned to the institution to earn her MA in English, where she focused on archival research and social justice. Her work includes the notable project 'Opening the Archive,' which connects indigenous communities with historical mission records. In the music scene, she is known for her soulful and indie-inflected performances, frequently opening for local post-punk and indie-sleaze acts like 10KCK. She is also a recognized advocate for student-athlete mental health, having co-founded the group SHAPE at Marquette.
