About
Ammonia Culture was an experimental post-punk project based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, led by musician Jesse DeFrancesco. Part of the city's vibrant DIY scene in the mid-2010s, the band's sound was characterized by jittery rhythms, dissonant guitars, and a no-wave aesthetic. Their discography includes their 2016 self-titled debut and the 2018 follow-up 'The Heat of the Day.' The band was a frequent performer in the Riverwest neighborhood and at venues like the Cactus Club before DeFrancesco transitioned to other musical endeavors.
