About
Apocalyptica is a Finnish symphonic metal band formed in 1993 in Helsinki. Initially a quartet of classically trained cellists, they gained fame with their 1996 album 'Plays Metallica by Four Cellos,' which featured Metallica covers performed solely on cellos. Over the years, they've evolved into a unique blend of classical and metal, selling over four million albums worldwide.
