Atrum Inritus
About
Formed in 2008, Atrum Inritus is an underground occult black metal project that, while based in Minneapolis, maintains deep roots in the Milwaukee and Wisconsin extreme metal scenes. The band is fronted by Joe Getse (performing under the name Vindicaré), a prominent figure in the Milwaukee underground who has also been a member of Wisconsin-based acts like Sacrificial Massacre and Agony. Atrum Inritus is known for a ritualistic approach to black metal, often incorporating elaborate stage setups with Satanic and skeletal imagery. Their lyrical themes revolve around Satanism, theurgy, and dark occultism. The band's discography is highlighted by their 2011 full-length album 'Prognatus in Vorago' and a 2014 split release with Milwaukee's Sacrificial Massacre titled 'Blood Moon Eclipse.' They have been a staple of Upper Midwest black metal festivals and shows, frequently bridging the gap between the Twin Cities and Milwaukee metal communities.
