Blind Pilot is a prominent American indie folk band formed in 2005 by vocalist/guitarist Israel Nebeker and drummer Ryan Dobrowski. Originally a duo, the band expanded to a sextet and gained national acclaim with their 2008 debut album, '3 Rounds and a Sound.' They are notably remembered for completing a West Coast tour entirely by bicycle shortly after their debut. Their music features intricate, lush arrangements incorporating instruments like the trumpet, banjo, and vibraphone. After an eight-year recording hiatus, the band returned in 2024 with their fourth studio album, 'In the Shadow of the Holy Mountain.' Though based in Oregon, they are a fixture in the Milwaukee indie and underground music scene, frequently headlining venues such as Turner Hall Ballroom and the Vivarium.
