About
Formed in 1995 in Madison, Wisconsin, Bongzilla is a cornerstone of the American sludge and stoner metal scene. Renowned for their extremely heavy riffs and lyrical focus entirely dedicated to marijuana and its legalization, the band released several seminal albums through Relapse Records, including 'Stash' (1999), 'Gateway' (2002), and 'Amerijuanican' (2005). After a hiatus beginning in 2009, the group reformed in 2015. They have since continued their 'weed metal' legacy as a three-piece, releasing the albums 'Weedsconsin' (2021) and 'Dab City' (2023) through Heavy Psych Sounds Records.
