About
Choke is a death metal and grindcore ensemble hailing from Green Bay, Wisconsin. Formed around 2021, the band features a lineup of veterans from the regional extreme music scene, including vocalist Dusty Hansen, guitarists Caleb Cheslock and Eric Kwiatkowski, drummer Chris Piette, and bassist Slayder Smett. They made their major debut in 2022 with the EP 'Desiphon', released through Translation Loss Records. The release garnered attention for its high-caliber production, having been recorded at Split Underground Studios in Green Bay, mixed by Kurt Ballou (Converge) at God City Studios, and mastered by Brad Boatright at Audio Siege. Known for their unrelenting speed and abrasive sound, Choke is a regular fixture in the broader Wisconsin underground, frequently performing in both Green Bay and the Milwaukee area.
