About
Duress was a prominent fixture in the Midwest hardcore scene during the late 2000s and early 2010s, bridging the underground communities of Milwaukee, Chicago, and Northwest Indiana. Known for an aggressive and fast-paced traditional hardcore sound, the band was a key part of the straight-edge revival of that era. They are famously remembered in local scene lore for performing with an American flag featuring the "XXX" straight-edge symbol as a backdrop. The group shared members with other notable area acts including Poison Planet, Subliminal Excess, and Affront. Their discography includes a self-titled demo and a 7-inch split with the band Born Bad.
