FESSOR HURST AND THE WINDY HILL WIZZARDS

About

'Fessor Hurst and His Windy Hill Wizzards Ragtime and Jazz Orchestra is a Waukesha-based ensemble led by Dr. Craig Hurst, an Emeritus Professor of Music at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee at Waukesha. The group specializes in the 'golden age' of jazz and ragtime, performing the music of pioneers like Scott Joplin, Jelly Roll Morton, and Buddy Bolden. Formed following Hurst's retirement from full-time teaching in 2017, the band is a regular fixture at local events such as Waukesha's Friday Night Live and has performed at venues across the region, including The Sugar Maple in Milwaukee.
