Genital Shame

About

Genital Shame is a one-person experimental black metal project based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, led by Erin Dawson. The project emerged in 2022, with Dawson serving as the sole member, handling all instruments and vocals. Genital Shame's music is characterized by introspective and emotionally charged compositions, blending elements of black metal with personal and vulnerable themes. The project has released several works, including the EP "Gathering My Wits" in 2023 and the full-length album "Chronic Illness Wish" in 2024. In March 2025, Genital Shame collaborated with Lust Hag on a split release titled "Genital Shame / Lust Hag."
