Laid Back Country Picker

About

Laid Back Country Picker is the stage persona of David Prince, a musician and educator from Louisa, Kentucky. Known for his motto 'play good country music and treat everybody right,' Prince performs alongside his wife Teresa (known as 'Honey'), who plays drums while wearing a muumuu and curlers. His style is a surreal blend of 1970s country, classic guitar rock, and hillbilly sensibility. A long-time mentor and friend to Tyler Childers, Prince has performed at major venues including the Ryman Auditorium, Red Rocks, and Bonnaroo. His persona is inspired by a 1970s Waylon Jennings song, but he has carved out a unique niche in the Appalachian underground music scene with albums like 'Go West' (2023).
