Cradle P. Lavender (often performing simply as Lavender) is the indie rock and folk project of Milwaukee-based singer-songwriter Trenton Houck. Houck began writing the project's music in high school around 2019 but kept his recordings private until moving to Milwaukee for university. He officially debuted with the EP 'Sunburn' in October 2022, recorded with producer and drummer Micky Rosenquist. Drawing heavy inspiration from artists like Elliott Smith, Mitski, and Lucy Dacus, the music is characterized by melancholy, stripped-back arrangements and confessional lyrics. A fixture in the Milwaukee underground scene, Houck is a member of the Midcoast Collective and frequently records at local spaces like Silver City Studios. In June 2024, he released his debut full-length studio album, 'Adrift', which expanded the project's sound with elements of shoegaze and jazz.
