About
Luctus is a prominent Lithuanian black metal band founded in 2001. Initially established as a solo project by Commander L. (Simonas Jurkevičius) while residing in Italy, the project eventually returned to Kaunas, Lithuania, where it evolved into a full-band lineup. The group is a staple of the Baltic extreme music scene, known for their aggressive, fast-paced sound that incorporates death and thrash metal influences. Their lyrical themes typically explore war, existentialism, spirituality, and negative emotions. Over more than two decades, they have released several influential albums including 'Jaučiant pabaigą arti' and 'Užribis'.
