About
Mean Green is a three-piece sludge metal band from Boone, North Carolina, formed in early 2022 by Jacob Helms (guitar/vocals), Alex Wierback (bass), and James Matthews (drums). The trio blends crushing sludge, stoner doom, and raw Southern grime, drawing inspiration from legends like Black Sabbath, Sleep, and Weedeater. Known for their massive rigs and slow, freight-train tempos, they released their self-titled debut album in March 2023 and have toured extensively across the Southeast, including performances in Atlanta, Asheville, and Raleigh.
