About
Morvern Hum is a Chicago-based quintet specializing in noisepop and shoegaze. The band consists of Ben Abid (guitar/vocals), Lola Marcantonio (keyboard/vocals), Jimmy Garwood (guitar), Evan Coombs-Broekema (bass), and Dexter Matthew (drums). Since their debut release 'Silk Cut' in late 2023, they have become known for a sound that juxtaposes heavy, distorted textures with ethereal melodies. They are signed to Candlepin Records, through which they released the album 'Hollow' in 2025 and 'Elastic Dream' in 2026. The group is active in the Chicago DIY scene, having performed at events such as UIC Radio's Battle of the Bands.
