Ophelia's Sweet Demise

About

Ophelia's Sweet Demise is a Milwaukee-based goth rock and darkwave project formed in 1997. The group's core creative duo consists of Daniel Kufahl (vocals, bass) and Kat Minerath (keyboards, vocals, formerly Kat DeWinter). After debuting in a local punk rock Tiki bar, they became a staple of the Milwaukee underground scene, releasing an EP and two full-length albums: 'Absinthe' (1998), 'Dark Serenade' (1999), and 'Ashes to Lashes' (2000). During their initial run, they performed with notable acts such as The Damned, Black Tape for a Blue Girl, and Sunshine Blind. Following a long hiatus beginning in 2001, the band reformed in 2012 and released the album 'Sonata Noire' in 2015, which introduced a more guitar-driven rock influence to their signature moody atmosphere.
