About
Recantation is an extreme music act from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, that blends the cavernous atmosphere of old-school death metal with the raw aggression of hardcore and grindcore. Emerging from the city's prolific underground heavy music scene in the early 2020s, the band is known for their abrasive sound and high-intensity live performances at local DIY staples like the X-Ray Arcade and Cactus Club. Their recordings, including their 2023 demo, showcase a dark, punishing aesthetic that has quickly established them as a notable name in the regional extreme metal circuit.
