Skarhead

About

Skarhead is a legendary American hardcore punk band founded in 1995 by Lord Ezec (Dan Singer, also known as Danny Diablo) in Queens, New York. The group is widely credited as the originators of 'thugcore,' a subgenre of hardcore punk that blends street-level lyricism with heavy, relentless breakdowns. Known for their high-energy live performances and street credibility, Skarhead released several influential projects, most notably the 1999 classic album 'Kings at Crime' on Victory Records. After a series of hiatuses and various side projects (such as Crown of Thornz and Icepick), founder Danny Diablo relocated to Milwaukee, Wisconsin around 2020. The band subsequently signed with the Milwaukee-based label Force 5 Records and released the EP 'Generators of Violence' in 2022, solidifying their presence in the Midwest underground scene while maintaining their East Coast roots.
