About
The Benjamins were a prominent Milwaukee-based pop punk band formed in 1998. The original lineup consisted of brothers Jay and Chris Stys, alongside Dan Hinz and Ron Forchette, with Ben Perlstein and Jon Phillip joining later. They gained significant local traction before signing with the influential California-based label Drive-Thru Records. In 2001, they released their acclaimed full-length album, 'The Art of Disappointment,' produced by Nick Raskulinecz. Despite touring nationally with acts like Sum 41, Reel Big Fish, and appearing on the Warped Tour, the band disbanded in early 2002. They have reunited periodically for benefit concerts and special events, notably releasing a five-song EP titled 'Back on Track' in 2014 via Good Land Records. Their most recent reunion performances took place in September 2023 to commemorate the legacy of the Milwaukee venue Globe East.
