About

Formed in 1974 in Forest Hills, Queens, New York, the Ramones are widely regarded as pioneers of the punk rock movement. Known for their fast tempos, simple three-chord structures, and catchy, often willfully inane lyrics, they released influential albums like their eponymous debut in 1976 and 'Rocket to Russia' in 1977. Despite limited commercial success in the U.S., their relentless touring and energetic live performances, notably at New York City's CBGB club, left a lasting impact on the music industry.
