This Day Forward was an influential post-hardcore and metalcore band formed in 1997 in Sellersville, Pennsylvania. They were a pivotal part of the early 2000s underground hardcore scene, known for blending technical musicianship with the emotive intensity of screamo. The band released several acclaimed records through Eulogy Recordings and Equal Vision Records, including 'The Transient Effects of Light on Water' (2000) and their final, highly-regarded album 'In Cascading Theory' (2003). They were staples of the touring circuit, frequently performing at Wisconsin venues like The Rave in Milwaukee alongside peers like Thursday and Poison the Well. The group disbanded in late 2003, with members moving on to prominent acts such as Finch, A Life Once Lost, Hot Cross, and Circa Survive.
