About
Union 13 is a legendary hardcore punk band originally formed in 1992 in Boyle Heights, East Los Angeles. Known for their high-speed, high-energy sound and bilingual (English/Spanish) lyrics, they were discovered by Brett Gurewitz of Epitaph Records. Their early albums, such as 'East Los Presents' (1997) and 'Why Are We Destroying Ourselves?' (1998), were produced by Tim Armstrong and Lars Frederiksen of Rancid. The band became a staple of the Southern California punk scene and the 'Punk-O-Rama' era. In the mid-2010s, founding vocalist Edward Escoto relocated to Wisconsin to raise his family, which transitioned the band's home base to the Midwest. They continue to tour internationally and perform at major punk festivals like Rebellion and Boomtown.
