About
Violent Vapor (widely known as Vapor and formerly as VX36) is a high-energy thrash and speed metal band originally from the San Francisco Bay Area. Formed in 2004, the band toured for nearly a decade as VX36 before officially rebranding. Known for their aggressive sound and relentless DIY work ethic, they blend classic thrash with death metal undertones. The group gained significant underground traction with their 2012 album 'A Violent Existence' and their 2010 'Violence E.P.' In 2023, they released 'Mass Mortality' via Cell Arts Records and have toured internationally with acts like Destruction and Nervosa. Despite their California roots, the band has a recurring presence in the Wisconsin metal scene, frequently performing at regional mainstays such as the Cactus Club in Milwaukee and the Recoil Bar & Grill in the Fox Valley.
