Blush Scars is an underground post-punk and noise rock outfit primarily based in Chicago, though they are frequent participants in the Milwaukee and broader Wisconsin DIY circuits. Led by frontman Sean McCormick, the band emerged around 2018 and is known for its raw, visceral sound and commitment to a self-produced aesthetic. Their music blends driving rhythms with dissonant, textured guitars and intense vocal delivery. Over the years, the group has featured collaborators from other notable Midwest acts, including Jonathon Freund (Pixel Grip) and the musician Hammond (Oux). They are recognized for their DIY ethos, often hand-burning their own CDs and cassettes for releases such as 'Mirror, Mirror' (2021) and 'Summoned' (2025).
