About
Burn the Priest is a heavy metal band formed in 1994 in Richmond, Virginia, and is famously known as the precursor to Lamb of God. The group released a self-titled studio album in 1999 before rebranding as Lamb of God in 2000 to avoid being pigeonholed as a 'satanic' band. The original lineup featured vocalist Randy Blythe, guitarists Mark Morton and Abe Spear, bassist John Campbell, and drummer Chris Adler. In 2018, the members briefly revived the Burn the Priest name to release a 20th-anniversary covers album titled 'Legion: XX', paying tribute to the punk and hardcore bands that influenced their early sound.
