Caley Conway
About
Caley Conway is a Milwaukee-based singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist known for a style that is "rooted in folk but hardly bound to it." A staple of the Wisconsin underground scene for over a decade, her music is characterized by its technical complexity, breezy vocals, and disarming wit. Conway's sound often shifts between dreamy, intimate indie-folk and more experimental, dissonant arrangements influenced by jazz and post-rock. Over her career, she has shared stages with prominent national acts such as Phoebe Bridgers, Julien Baker, and Lomelda. She gained significant critical attention with her 2016 full-length Silk For Life and has since released a steady stream of acclaimed projects, including the 2019 LP Surrounded Middle and the 2022 Joni Mitchell-inspired EP Only a Dark Cocoon. Her 2024 album, Partner, is widely regarded as a career highlight, exploring themes of codependency and autonomy with what critics call "effortless finesse."
