Death Threat

About

Death Threat is an influential American hardcore band formed in 1997 in New Haven, Connecticut. Founded by vocalist Aaron 'Knuckles' Butkus alongside former members of Hatebreed, the band quickly became a staple of the 'CTHC' (Connecticut Hardcore) and broader East Coast scenes. Their sound is characterized by a thick, aggressive metallic hardcore style reminiscent of NYHC legends like Madball and Sick of It All. Their 2000 debut full-length, 'Peace & Security', is considered a cult classic within the genre. Although not originally from Wisconsin, the band has maintained a significant presence in the Milwaukee underground scene for over two decades, performing at landmark events such as the original Milwaukee Metalfest (2002) and its modern revival (2026), as well as storied local venues like The Globe.
