About
The Didjits were an influential punk rock band formed in Champaign, Illinois, in 1983. Fronted by the charismatic Rick Sims, the band was known for their high-octane blend of punk energy and rock-and-roll swagger, becoming a cornerstone of the Touch and Go Records roster. Though based in Illinois, they were a frequent and highly regarded fixture in the Midwest underground touring circuit, including prominent venues in Milwaukee and across Wisconsin, during the late 80s and early 90s. The band's aggressive yet melodic sound left a lasting impact on the alternative and garage rock genres.
