Du Fromage is a five-piece jazz fusion and funk ensemble based in the Twin Cities, primarily performing in the St. Paul and Minneapolis underground music scenes. The group formed at Minneapolis College, where its members bonded over a shared interest in rich harmony, funky grooves, and the eclectic sounds of video game soundtracks. The lineup includes Mario Javier Aviles (guitar), Derek Bell (bass), Joe Bensing (keys), Maxwell Reichart (trumpet & vocals), and Andrew Kist (drums). While based in Minnesota, the band maintains a strong connection to Wisconsin through trumpeter Maxwell Reichart, a Milwaukee-area native and graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee music program. Du Fromage is known for its high-energy live performances at venues like MetroNOME Brewery and Amsterdam Bar & Hall, often collaborating with other local Twin Cities collectives such as The Mess.
