About
Gigan is a technical and psychedelic death metal band formed in 2006 by guitarist and primary creative force Eric Hersemann. Originally established in Tampa, Florida, the band later relocated to Chicago, Illinois. Gigan is renowned for an atypical, avant-garde approach to extreme music, blending technical death metal with psychedelic rock and sci-fi themes inspired by kaiju and cosmic horror. Since their debut EP 'Footsteps of Gigan' in 2007, they have released multiple full-length albums through Willowtip Records, including 'The Order of the False Eye' (2008) and 'Anomalous Abstractigate Infinitessimus' (2024). The band has toured extensively with prominent metal acts such as Immolation and Cattle Decapitation.
