About
Iron Lung is a highly influential American powerviolence duo consisting of Jensen Ward (drums, vocals) and Jon Kortland (guitar, vocals). Formed in 1999 in Reno, Nevada, the band later relocated to Seattle via Oakland. They are known for their 'medically thematic' lyrical and musical delivery, blending elements of hardcore punk, grindcore, and sludge. The duo also operates Iron Lung Records, a prolific DIY label founded in 2007 that supports a wide array of underground music. As of 2025, the band remains active, recently releasing the full-length album 'Adapting // Crawling'.
